Data Modeler (Specialist)

Responsibilities:

• Design data flows and develop conceptual/logical/physical enterprise data models and ensure data can be utilized efficiently across AIAT systems.
• Define data modeling and design standards, tools, best practices, and related development for enterprise data models.
• Develop and Maintain data maps and interrelationship diagrams across data domains and data platforms (including master/reference data. data model/ technical metadata)
• Identify the needs of a business and develop data models that fit these needs.
• Liaise with related stakeholders e.g., data owner/ data steward/ IT Representative/ Data Services Team/ Vendors and related parties to facilitate data ingestion design and development and data usage.
• Evaluate any inefficiencies, gaps, and discrepancies in Data Platform.
• Provide recommendations/solutions to data issues and continuously optimize data in Data Platform to ensure data accuracy and integrity and recommend solutions.
• Work with Data Governance team to ensure metadata aligns with data quality, privacy and compliance standards.
• Work with related departments to initiate and improve the data platform operations towards efficiency.
• Develop documentation and guides for data sets and data products making them accessible and understandable to a wide range of users.
• Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance data literacy across the organization.
• Drive awareness of good data practice.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business administration, information systems, computer engineering, computer science, information technology, or related fields.
• 4+ years of experience in Data Modelling, Data Platform Design, Data Management, Business Analyst, IT Implementation or IT Operation.
• Having knowledge and familiarity with Data Governance Framework is a plus.
• Experience in writing or working with various documents such as ER diagrams, Data Models, policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines is a plus.
• Experience working in insurance industry.
• Experience working with Databricks and Azure technology is a plus.
• Proficient in SQL and NoSQL database languages.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Familiarity with data model standards and practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
