IT Specialist

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and manage computer networks, workstations, and support server systems.
• Manage hardware and software, including user accounts, computer/telephone rooms, and network security measures.
• Plan and coordinate information technology-related equipment installations, moves, additions, changes, and system enhancements.
• Maintain, test, evaluate, and repair computer networks, workstations, supporting hardware/software, and user accounts.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to computer hardware, software, LAN/WAN, internet connectivity, and in-room entertainment systems.
• Respond to program error messages and maintain accurate inventory of all technological devices.
• Implement preventive maintenance procedures for IT equipment and software.
• Provide technical support and training to staff on various IT applications and equipment.
• Train users in the proper use and security of all systems.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect against potential threats.
• Ensure backup tapes are locked in a secure location.
• Analyze, recommend, and implement process improvements for IT systems and workflows.
• Consult with others to assess, analyze, and resolve computing needs and system requirements.
• Refer major problems to vendors/technicians as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a technical support role, preferably within the 4- or 5-star hotel.
