Head of Software Development

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

• Develop and communicate a clear technology strategy and direction that aligned with the corporate goals and objectives.
• Lead the creation and implementation of technological initiatives, process designing, budgeting and measurement setting in contribution to company’s technological vision.
• Foster culture of innovation and growth-driven by encouraging creative thinking, customer-centric, and continuous improvement to capture maximum market potentials.

Technology Trends:

• Stay abreast of technology trends or emerging technologies that leverage business strengths and enhance competitive advantage while delivering value to the customers.
• Conduct thorough technological market analysis and insight to evaluate the feasibility and potential impact in relevant to the company’s software services.
• Provide regular updates and presentations to senior leadership and stakeholders on technological strategy, initiatives, investment progress and outcomes.

Team Leadership and Management:

• Direct and manage technology teams to achieve corporate goals and objectives by providing guidance, mentorship, and driving service delivery performance to ensure successful project execution.
• Possess sufficient technical expertise to provide teams with counselling on making optimal decisions based on technical rationale and business contexts.
• Communicate technical matters effectively to people from diverse backgrounds from service to business teams as well as clients and other stakeholders.
• Setup business performance reporting mechanisms to determine adequacy and efficiency of resources utilization by tracking progress, identifying bottlenecks, and making data-driven decisions to achieve relevant corporate goals.
• Ensure technical production team has sufficient data availability to make operational informed decisions, such as estimations, velocity, uptime, outage incidents, etc.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to define the success of corporate software development business and new technological initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MS) preferred.
• Proven track record of leadership in driving software development business
• Background from IT service provider, tech consulting firm or technology-driven organization
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies, emerging technologies, and industry trends.
• Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, collaborative, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts and ideas to diverse audiences.
• Experience in managing cross-functional teams and fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt to change, and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for exploring new ideas and pushing the boundaries of what's possible in technology.
