Job Description:

• Team Head - CR Underwriting is assigned to support Head of CR Underwriting to implement the agreed plan / policy / procedure and manage / supervise team members (Team Lead, Senior Underwriter and Underwriter) to conduct independent business and/or credit restructuring risk underwriting activities to accommodate and support business to achieve targets with portfolio quality, efficient underwriting, and approval process. Team Head, CR Underwriting must possess diverse credit restructuring background & experience, managerial and training skills, balanced and independent credit restructuring judgment to maintain the high standard performance:
• To make well balanced credit restructuring decisions or credit restructuring recommendations on credit restructuring proposals as per the delegated approval authorities.
• To manage, supervise and coach the team members and review the credit restructuring approval processes to achieve the department’s designated targets / productivity for underwriting work quality & efficiency including individual and team’s turnaround time, cost effectiveness, customer service.
• To manage the assigned customer portfolio to achieve the department’s designated credit restructuring quality for credit restructuring & cost control, loan portfolio quality by maintaining the quality of existing and new customer credit restructuring bookings.
• To thoroughly understand linkages between laws, regulations, credit restructuring governance, policies , group business strategies, management initiatives and existing credit restructuring approval and review process, policies and to manage the team members to revise related changes in assigned credit restructuring underwriting guidelines and / or supplementary credit restructuring policies in a timely manner to ensure internal /external compliance but at the same time to achieve fast and customer focused decision making which is in line with the bank’s business & credit restructuring strategies;
• To ensure all plans, policies, work process have been well implemented.
• To review his/her own performance comparing with approved KPI and discuss such results with Head of Credit restructuring Underwriting for revision and / or improvement from time to time.
• To provide advice and recommendation for approval toward credit restructuring underwriting guideline for assigned portfolio industries for clear credit restructuring underwriting direction and acceptable credit restructuring underwriting standard; and
• To develop other related credit restructuring works and provide credit restructuring comments for new/revised banking product and related working process, related business strategies & policies etc.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree or higher in finance, accounting, economics, Business administration
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience (external or internal) combining credit analysis, debt restructuring and risk management and quantitative analysis in the financial services (preferably within the banking sector)
• Strong credit restructuring and analytical skills, extensive banking products and industry experience, ability to develop and motivate staff effectively to produce good results.
• Strong communication – representing credit risk interests – with the Business, particularly with the Relationship Management team, ability to handle stress related to differences in KPIs
• Leadership, independent & sound decision maker, energetic and self driven, being able to work to a high standard under pressure.
