The Lecturer contributes to Teaching and Research, and Engagement in the International Business Program within the Department of Management. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of the program to meet the needs of students and other stakeholders, ensure a consistent level of research is undertaken to support relevant research clusters in the Business School. He/She may deliver courses across related programs as directed.
The incumbent also contributes to the strategic direction setting of the program, department, and School by working collaboratively with other relevant members of the department to plan and develop courses, programs, and engagement activities. The successful candidate assists the Senior Program Manager on occasion with administrative decisions and tasks.
The scope of responsibilities includes supporting the formulation of strategic planning for the program, course management, where needed, quality assurance, student relationship management, human resource management, program budgeting and resource management and research planning.
Our requirements
PhD or equivalent Doctoral qualification.
Experience in preparing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the following courses: Global Business, Global Corporate Responsibility, Cross Cultural Management, Global Trade Operations, and Political Economy of Global Business. This includes online delivery and the creation of high-quality curriculum materials.
Ability to coordinate and develop courses.
Proven ability to work effectively with students, particularly on learning-related issues.
Established track record in quality research outputs contributing to program and School research areas.
Experience in supervising higher degree research candidates.
Proven ability to generate alternative funding projects through effective networking with colleagues, industry, and government.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Proven performance in student outcomes and experience, with skills in various teaching settings.
Ability to work within own discipline and cross-disciplinary teams to achieve strategic outcomes.
Experience working with external partners to address complex issues or seek opportunities.
Ability to motivate, develop and inspire others in a University environment.
Ability to display appropriate behaviour in line with the position as per the RMIT Values
Expected Research profile
To be considered for a lecturer position at RMIT Vietnam in The Business School, you will need to be able to meet the following research criteria.
For candidates with a PhD awarded within the last 3 years (Early Career Academic), although there are no requirements you are expected to be research active.
For candidates with a PhD awarded within the last 3- 5 years there are requirements of peer reviewed journal articles published within the previous five-year window, you need to be active in relevant research areas.
For candidates with a PhD awarded more than 5 years ago: you will be expected to demonstrate a minimum of 2 peer reviewed journal articles, of which must be ranked in Scimago or ABDC and preferably both in Q1/A ranking or equivalent, within the previous five-year window.
To be considered for a Senior Lecturer position and above, The Business School operates a research active points system. Points are earned across a spectrum of research within a prior three-year window. Candidates for higher level positions will be considered against these criteria for shortlisting.
